Weight Issue

Pilling on the kilos is bad news for more for more than just cosmetic reasons. It raises the risk of breast cancer by a massive 50 per cent. A study by the National Cancer Institute in Maryland, USA, found that pushing up the needle of the weighing scale post 18, increase the threat of breast cancer. And that holds true no matter how overweight women were. The reason? Carrying around wobbly bits triggers a change in sex hormone levels, increasing the amount of oestrogen, which can cause some breast cancers to grow. Women who were not overweight at 18but were at 35, had a 40 per cent increased risk of development breast cancer. On the plus side, losing weight and keeping an eye on the calories help reduce the risk of cancer
